Make a complaint

SJS is a not-for-profit providing a service to find talented students and graduates jobs with compatible employers. We consistently strive to deliver a quality service to our all customers.

If you think we are not meeting this standard, or you have a complaint about an employment experience, we would like to hear from you.

We support students and employers who raise concerns regarding their employment experience in a variety of ways. It's important to note that Student Job Search is an employment platform and not part of the employment relationship between students and their employers.

Student Job Search is not qualified to provide legal advice. We will where necessary, provide practical support to students and employers, who may have experienced a challenge in the workplace or refer you to Employment New Zealand or WorkSafe who can provide you with free advice on your matter depending on the nature of your concern.

How to make a complaint

When you make a complaint please tell us:

  • Your name
  • Your contact details
  • Details about the complaint

We ask for your contact details, so we can respond directly to you. However, if you wish to make a complaint anonymously it will be treated with the same level of importance.

Our complaints process

We will pass on your complaint, including any information you have provided, to our complaint's resolution team. You can expect to hear from them within 3 business days. We will always acknowledge a complaint in writing via email when it is received.

Our complaints team will contact you via email or phone with the contact details you have provided.

We will endeavour to resolve your complaint within 10 business days once we have all the required information from you. If we require additional time, we will let you know in writing.
